How Far Will We Go To Fight The Lives Of Our Seniors During The Pandemic?
This pandemic affected the lives of many people especially the elderly.
Many people around the world cannot feel at ease if an older adult in their family is sick of COVID. They are watching closely on nay developments when it comes to cure. We become very concern because the chances of an elderly dying are high if they contract the virus. They know for a fact that ones an elderly contracts the virus they may have no choice but to leave them to die. This is often the case because many people around the world don’t have the resources to save a life.
Statistics show that deaths among people aged 65 and older are highest. During the pandemic many of these deaths have taken placed in facilities. A number of deaths took place in hospice care among the elderly. The number is very disturbing and it’s a reality that few efforts are being done in many countries to stop this.
Some politicians kept their eyes close. They allowed nature take its course because they believe that saving a seniors life is not worth it. This virus is hard to eradicate and many nations don’t focus on saving a seniors life. Many are left to die naturally because of the lack of resources. Our frontlines are exhausted in saving lives and they feel that this is the best option.
As humans it is just proper to give our elderly the utmost care they deserve. However this pandemic has caused so much fear. We limit ourselves to care for elders with COVID because of the fear of contracting the virus. The lack of facility and cure also contributed to this. This restricted us to provide the utmost care our elderlies need to prolong their life.
Senior living facilities facing challenges during COVID-19 pandemic
Many nations cannot provide the necessary PPE’s to it’s front liners and patients. This are important to help protect against the virus. Some nations also fail to provide funds for the needed equipment in hospitals. Equipment such as adjustable beds are important for many elders who have COVID. But it’s a sad reality that many hospitals do not have this. These beds are important because they can help in promoting proper breathing. Governments around the world are facing this problem and are left unresolved.
But there is still good left in many of us, we still make it a point to save lives especially that of our elderlies. We strive and fight to let them stay alive. But it’s also sad to realize that despite these efforts many nations mixed politics in our fight to COVID 19. They make things worst instead of making the situation lighter and brighter.
Some politicians think that its useless to put funds to elderlies who have the virus. They think that it’s not worth it. They would rather save the younger age groups because they have more to do in the society. This is one notion we should correct. Everyone deserves to live especially our seniors.
