Malaysian Cleric Cautions Government Against Using 'Intellect' or 'Logic' When It Comes to Islam

'Use the Force, Luke!'

Well, that's basically what Malaysian Islamic Cleric Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria advised state government officials to do. These crazy politicians have been getting all hung up on logic and intellect and facts and stuff when dealing with Islam. Zakaria set them straight on this one.
In what very well could have been mistaken as either satire or a line from the seventh century, a Southeast Asian Islamic Mufti has warned his fellow government officials that when it comes to Islam, intellect and logic have no place in the conversation. As reported by the Malaysian Insider news portal on Aug. 7, 2015, and also by Front Page magazine on Aug. 6, 2015, Dr. Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria cautioned other public servants in the Malaysian state of Perak to steer clear of reason for fear of inviting Beelzebub into their midst.
More specifically, he said this:
“I advise them not to go overboard. Islam is based on faith… Don’t make any remarks based on the intellect or logic because they are laws of Allah,” Harussani said.

“The intellect is governed by desires and it is influence by shaitan (satan). Don’t be ruled by desires and rudderless comments,” he added, using the name of the Devil in Islamic lore.
Well, duh! These are the Laws of Allah, so no thinky think for anyone about them! Besides, religion has nothing to do with one's desires at all! It's all based on stuff that's written down in a book, which is beyond logic and reason ... or something. So stop thinking so hard, mmmkay?
