So, I was looking for people to help me get the word out about my fundraiser to build classrooms for the Kasese Humanist Primary School in Uganda:
Hello Mr. Chomsky,
I'm trying to spread the word outside the rather small community of atheists and humanists to a broader audience about a school I'm helping out in Uganda. It's a school based on Secular Humanist foundations.
I've already managed to fundraise them a chicken coop to help feed the children. I've also managed - with the help of many others - to buy a new plot of land for a permanent school (not rented).
I am running a fundraiser that's just stuck in the mud completely.
Could you help spread the word? Facebook it or could you give some other support?
- Sean McGuireWell, I was happy to have received a nice reply, only a day later, explaining that although he was glad to learn what I was doing, he doesn't really do social media and so has little way to get the word out. On the spur of the moment, I decided to send him a PDF. It had only a simple URL and nothing more. Perhaps he could hold it up in a picture. Hopefully that would be a quick and easy way to get the message out.
I was delighted when Dr. Chomsky agreed!
Be glad to have a picture taken. I’d suggest that you write to Bev Stohl and ask her to arrange it.A special thanks to both Noam Chomsky and his wonderful assistant Bev Stohl, who took the picture on her mobile phone!
