I think you can tell from this picture just how dark it
gets at night in Kasese. Well, it seems dark to this city
dweller who's used to tonnes of light pollution.
School Director Bwambale Robert sent me a quick e-mail to let me know the power company has finally completed their work. The existing building on the new land now has power.
'I am emailing briefly to notify you, the donors and friends of Kasese Humanist Primary School that the KHPS Property was yesterday evening connected to the power grid.
'This is a positive development as having power at the site is a greater achievement for the school as it will serve several roles ranging from beefing up security, running construction equipment where possible, adding value to the property and solving the future school electricity needs in structures to be constructed.'
Remember, it was blog readers like you and other generous donors who helped make this whole thing possible with a fundraiser just this spring! The next step is to begin constructing new school classrooms on this land. See below for how you can help!
Here's a picture of the breaker box and power meter. There appears to be two breakers for this circuit.
I've got more updates to make about the school in the coming days! Remember, the Pathfinders Project will be arriving at the school on September 11th and the school term recommences on September 16th!
I've started a fundraiser to help build classrooms on newly purchased land for the Kasese Humanist Primary School.
